Major Takeaways:

  • For the first time, Verstappen won twice at the same venue.
  • The race was marked Vettel’s best finish since the Belgian Grand Prix happened back in August.
  • Hulkenberg came 6th in the past two races.

The 2018 Mexican Grand Prix was a three  day motor racing event that held on 28 October 2018 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Mexico City. It was the 19th round of the 2018 Formula One World Championship.

In this race, Lewis Hamilton won his 5th Formula one World championship that made him joint second most successful driver of all time. This 33-year old British driver became the 3rd man in the history to receive five world titles. He matched the record of Argentina’s legend Juan Manuel Fangio and is just two behind all-time record holder Michael Schumacher.

Talking about the winner of the event, the big trophy in Mexico City went to Dutch driver Max Verstappen. His victory was possibly the most polished win of his career until now.

It seems that Sebastian Vettel who came second in the race knew it right from the beginning that his chances of winning are minimal. Despite putting so much effort in the race and executing a smart move on Hamilton on lap 39 he couldn’t make his fans happy.

Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen successfully managed to secure the 3rd position in the Mexican Grand Prix.
